FIRST INTERNATIONAL DRIVE TO SUPPORT REFUGEES
Tysons, VA, May 31, 2018—Integrity Management Consulting, Inc. announced today that it is holding a backpack drive for child refugees from South Sudan living in a refugee camp in the Adjumani District in northern Uganda. The company’s goal is to provide backpacks and basic school supplies for 250 students in what equates to first through sixth grades. These students attend a new school that was started two years ago to provide an education to the South Sudanese children who are displaced as refugees are oftentimes displaced for in excess of ten years.

Integrity strives to make an impact in its community by supporting projects related to education/job-training or meeting basic human needs. The majority of the students at the school in the refugee camp are orphans and many live in child-headed households. Their physical needs are significant as they try to survive in an area where medical care is scarce and food is insufficient. Integrity decided that an area in which it could provide immediate support is by providing backpacks and school supplies to students.
“I traveled to Uganda over spring break with my family, and I had the opportunity to visit this school and meet these children who are such enthusiastic, committed students. We are pleased to be able to support them in such a simple but necessary way. We know how critical education is to children and ultimately to the self-sufficiency of adults who are trying to break out of poverty,” said Christopher Romani, Chief Executive Officer at Integrity. “I was encouraged to see our team reach our goal of 100 backpacks in only two weeks’ time. We are eager to hit the 250 mark by teaming with our neighbors in the Silverline Center.”

We have conducted many back to school drives for students in need locally in Fairfax County so this was a great opportunity for us to expand on those projects, which our team loves to support, to a new continent!”
